STARHAWKS HOUSE LEAGUE-LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY

Sessions Run Oct-April

This Program focuses on early-level hockey skills and skating for players between 4 and 12 years old.

No prior hockey experience is required to participate in this no-pressure learn to love hockey experience. We do recommend some level of skating proficiency (get up, start, glide, stop and turn). For brand new skaters we recommend participating in one of the Learn to Skate offerings- See the Learn to Skate webpage for more information about these Programs.

The House League Program is spilt into three sections:  1) Beginners (skaters with starter skating experience); 2) Intermediate (skaters with at least one year of skating experience); 3) Advanced (skaters evaluated to have higher level skating experience).  Our goal is to have the players at the best level for their skating and hockey development, so a player evaluation will be performed on the player's first time on the ice.

We will follow the USA Hockey American Development Model guidelines and have several stations for skills & skating development followed by small games.  Fun will be stressed as the players develop their skating and hockey skills.  USA Hockey has a great webpage for new hockey families, just click here.
